Biography
Ko kwan-yong is a professor of Social Welfare at Cheju Halla University(Jeju, Korea). Prof. Ko serves as a member of the Central Committee of the Advisory Council on Democratic and Peaceful Unification and serves as the chairman of the Korea Association for University Continuing Education. His areas of interest include changes in North Korean politics following changes in inter-Korean relations, the issue of separated families on the Korean Peninsula, the future of North Korea, changes in Kim Jong-un's regime, changes in U.S.-North Korea relations, social welfare in North Korea after reunification, and social settlement of North Korean refugees. He currently serves as an advisor to the Committee for the Separated Families, secretary-general of the Jeju Institute for Unification and Future Studies, and vice chairman of the Center for Unification Education. He seeks to pay continued attention to the resolution of the South-South conflict and unification education in the 10 million separated families, the North Korean issue, and inter-Korean relations.
