Chan-Sik Park is the director of the Center for Jeju Studies at the Jeju Research Institute. Dr. Park is a member of the Advisory Board of the Advisory Council on Democratic and Peaceful Unification and the Research Chairperson of the Jeju Peace and Unification Forum. His major fields are Korean modern history and the local history of Jeju Island. His studies are on Korean modern history, the history of the Jeju 4.3 Incident, and the people's history of Jeju Island. He was a research professor at Jeju National University from 2006-2009 and the director of Jeju 4.3 Research Institute from 2008 to 2010.
