Biography

Yong J. Lee, Professor Emeritus of Chung-Ang University, was born on July 24, 1952, in Jinhae, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea. He earned degrees from Seoul National University and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA. After returning to Korea, he worked at the Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements (KRIHS), which helped complete the basic skeleton of the national arterial highway network by participating in the National Highway Network Project. Since 1995, he has established the Department of Urban Engineering at Chung-Ang University and retired in 2017. During this period, he contributed greatly to the academic and technical development of urban and regional planning and transportation planning in Korea. In 2017, he was awarded the National Medal of Honor. He is now conducting research on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, one of the core technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, at the Jeju Research Institute.
