Biography
Sun-Jin Yun is a professor at the Graduate School of Environmental Studies at Seoul National University and chairperson of the Korea Energy Information Culture Agency. She is the president of the Korean Association of Environmental Sociology and vice-president of the Korean Society for Environmental Education, the Korean Association of Space & Environment Research, and the Korean Society of Climate Change Research. Professor Yun is serving as a committee member for several governmental Committees including the Presidential Commission on Policy Planning, the Special Committee on the Prevention of Fine Dust under the prime minister, and the Central Committee for Environmental Policy under the Ministry of Environment. Also, she is a co-chairperson of the Energy Policy Committee of Seoul Metropolitan City. She published a book, Environmental Movements in Korea with the renowned environmental sociologist, Riley E. Dunlap and participated in many books including Rethinking Environmentalism, Energy Transition in East Asia, Public Administration and Policy in Korea, Beyond Risk Society, and so on. She published more than 100 articles. Her major research areas of interest include energy policy, environmental policy, environmental movements and awareness, environmental governance, management of commons and common-pool resources, and environmental education.
