Biography
SangYeon Kim is a journalist currently working as a political editor, at Seoul Shinmun Daily. Kim has had many different experiences as a journalist for 23 years, especially in foreign and national security affairs and politics Kim covered the first historic reunion event of dispersed families during the Korean War held in Pyongyang, North Korea, covered Korean troops for the Iraq War in Arbil, Iraq, covered U.S. bases in Okinawa, Japan, and covered U.S. prison camp in Guantanamo, Cuba. Kim covered three presidential elections, three general elections, and 3 local elections in Korea. Kim covered American politics including 2 U.S. presidential elections and also Korea-U.S. alliance issues as a correspondent in Washington D.C. U.S.A. Especially since last year, Kim has covered three inter-Korean summits and two North Korea-U.S. summits.
