For over a decade, being engaged in the energetic and ever-changing art scene in Việt Nam as an independent gallerist and curator, Bùi Kim Đĩnh has examined different ways of art navigating local and global platforms. Believing in the power of art, Kim Đĩnh is interested in how art challenges social and political norms in different contexts. Since 2016, she has been working on her doctoral research on independent art in relation to the development of civil society in Việt Nam at the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology and the Ethnographic Collection, Georg-August University Goettingen, Germany.
