Since the new launching of Jeju Free International City (hereafter JFIC) in 2002, Jeju has opened the era of 10 million tourists visiting and grasped a global environmental brand stemming from triple crown achievements (eg., Biosphere Reserve, World Natural Heritage, Global Geopark, New 7 Wonders of Nature). Of course, it was based on the great amount of external investment for developing JFIC. Not only rational utilization of environmental and ecological resources but also new strategy establishment on road to newly heating-up JFIC is essentially required to seek out. This is likely to be coupled with redesigning and reconstructing the industry, economy, culture social welfare, and so on in Jeju. Most of all, Jeju needs to make a global development strategy parallel to the keynote of central government pivotal policies such as creative economy and cultural prosperity. Then, it seems that Jeju would be expected to launch a new era of 20 million tourists visiting and reaching the world's environmental capital, thus going into a highly-valued global city in the 21st century.
