Globalization has blurred national borders and made business competition even fiercer. While it is important for firms to develop new technologies to improve their competitiveness, it is also important for them to protect and safeguard the technologies that they have developed on the back of huge investments and efforts. Industrial security, which is increasingly recognized as an essential element of business management, is more essential and secure than insurance in that it consolidates the very foundations of firms and helps them to prepare for certain contingencies. This session will overview the trends and directions of industrial security policy both at home and abroad, and discuss the impact on business management of the Personal Information Protection Act, which was passed on March 11th and will take effect on September 30th.
