Peace studies are facing a turning point with the beginning of the 21st century. Before and shortly after the post-Cold War era, peace based on military conflicts was the main issue of peace studies. The session on peace studies is organized by the Peace Research Institute of Oslo, the Center for International Area Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and the Jeju Peace Institute.

- Based on the reviews of peace studies, this session incorporates philosophical thoughts, theoretical ideas, and field activities in conflict areas.
