Women’s sensitivity, ability to communicate, and creativity are crucial factors in the production of valuable cultural content in this era of knowledge creation. Today, women recognize themselves as key actors in the cultural mainstream and carry out cultural activities to their content, while enjoying their everyday lives. In this connection, it should be pointed out that in Asia, cultural exchanges should be made so as to enable women to create their lifestyles more freely and diversely. This session will discuss the creative activities of women in the cultural industry and ways of exchange and collaboration in the film, fine art, and fashion sectors, which are shaping a new Asian culture centered on women’s creativity and productivity. Experts will also discuss ways of helping women to further their creativity and abilities. Participants will also have an opportunity to listen to interesting stories about the women’s liberation movement from Gloria Steinem, a principal actor in that movement, who was included in the list of the 100 Most Important Women of the 20th Centuryed by ABC-TV.
