It may be said that the traditional mass media are in a great crisis due to dramatic changes in people’s life patterns and their methods of obtaining information amid the development of Internet-based mass media and the widespread use of Microblog and Twitter. In Asian countries, certain newspapers’ ill-conceived commentaries on neighboring countries are triggering controversies. Such problems are caused by a mutual lack of understanding despite close geographical proximity. It is time that the mass media in Asia collaborate with each other under the current situation in which Asians are establishing common values and life patterns.
