The greatest fear induced by climate change stems from the uncertainty that arises from our inability to continue familiar ways of life. Intangible cultural heritage, such as traditional agricultural practices and fishing methods, which interact with the environment, faces significant challenges in the face of the climate crisis. However, intangible cultural heritage, which emphasizes harmony with nature, is gaining attention as an alternative value that contributes to the creation of sustainable environments and the protection of biodiversity, offering potential solutions to mitigate the climate crisis. This session will explore how women, as key transmitters of traditional knowledge, are responding to climate change through their cultural practices, and aim to identify concrete strategies to overcome the climate crisis through the integration of traditional knowledge.
