For the first time in its 20-year history, the 2025 Jeju Forum will host a main session focused on education. This session aims to examine the evolving role of Korea’s Provincial Offices of Education amid rapid global shifts in education, demographic changes, and digital transformation. It seeks to explore strategic pathways to enhance educational competitiveness. We are honored to invite Professor CHO Nam-Joon, Chair Professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, whose groundbreaking research and leadership in higher education strategy offer valuable insights into aligning secondary and tertiary education and expanding the policy roles of local education authorities. Through this session, the Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education hopes to initiate a meaningful dialogue among domestic and international experts to diagnose the current challenges in Korea’s educational system and explore innovative solutions for nurturing future global leaders.
