The science and technology parks of yesteryear have been widely recognized as leading the economic growth of various countries through advancements in science and technology. In addition, they have been the standard for gauging national competitiveness. Today, these parks are being transformed into cradles of innovation for sustainable development and for the creation of new industries based on a 21st-century knowledge-based economy. In the future, science and technology parks must not simply remain as a means for advancing science and technology and enhancing national competitiveness. They will need to shift into a key position of innovation for human coexistence by establishing a global network of the highest order. This session will serve as a place to formulate new strategies for the future and development plans with contributions by science park representatives from all over the world.
