The East China Sea is an extremely important area for Korea, China, and Japan for development and prosperity. The East China Sea is not only the main trade passage around the three countries but also important regional fisheries resources. In addition, the East China Sea has a large impact on the climate because this Pacific region has warm currents and through the typhoon route. In particular, as a result of climate change and dam construction are rapidly changing ocean conditions today and this situation is increasingly subjected to impacts and concerns. In the case of the East China Sea, as the boundary between the neighboring countries is ambiguous, international cooperation and research need to be increased. This session will present the ongoing international cooperation for the research on the East China Sea, and seek ways and subjects to further develop.
