The UNESCO Natural Heritage Program tries to recognize and conserve nature’s most unique, significant, and beautiful phenomena. Natural Heritage sites include places with pristine natural conditions and beautiful natural scenery, geological sites demonstrating the natural history of the earth, and areas with ecological harmony. Since the world’s natural heritage sites are precious assets for humanity, it is every one’s responsibility to educate future generations about the importance of the natural environment, to preserve it, to manage it, and to plan for sustainable development.
