울프강 그리제르트는 현 오스나브뤼크 시장으로 시장 취임 전 오스나브뤼크 독일도시연합 생태위원회, 경제·교통·환경위원회, 도시계획위원회, 로어 색소니주(Lower Saxony) 도시계획 및 환경보호 T/F팀 등에서 활동하였다. 그리제르트 시장은 오스나브뤼크 개신교구역 사무·사회복지, 오스나브뤼크 동물학대예방단체, 오스나브뤼크 식물원후원단체 등에서 활동하고 있다. 이 외에 독일어권 역사지구국제연합, 로어색소니주 건축가회의소, 오스나브뤼크 평화증진단체, 오스나브뤼크 가족동맹, 다룸·그레테슈·뤼스트링겐 시민연합 등의 회원으로 다양한 활동에 참여하고 있다.
