Brendan M. Howe (BA/MA Oxon, MA UKC, PhD TCD) is Professor of International Relations and former Associate Dean and Department Chair of the Graduate School of International Studies, Ewha Womans University. He is also currently the President of the Asian Political and International Studies Association (APISA). He has held visiting professorships and research fellowships at the Freie Universität Berlin, University of Sydney, East-West Center (Honolulu), Georgetown University, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, and Beijing Foreign Studies University. His ongoing research agendas focus on traditional and non-traditional security in East Asia, human security, middle powers, public diplomacy, post-crisis development, comprehensive peacebuilding and conflict transformation. He has authored, co-authored, or edited more than 90 related publications. Including: UN Governance in Cambodia and East Timor: Measurements of Success (Springer, 2020), Regional Cooperation for Peace and Development (Routledge, 2018), National Security, Statecentricity, and Governance in East Asia (Springer, 2017), Peacekeeping and the Asia-Pacific (Brill, 2016), Democratic Governance in Northeast Asia (Springer, 2015), Post-Conflict Development in East Asia (Ashgate, 2014), and The Protection and Promotion of Human Security in East Asia (Palgrave, 2013).

브랜든 하우는 이화여대 국제관계학 교수이며 이화여대 국제대학원 부원장을 역임하였고, 아시아정치국제연구협회(APISA) 회장직을 맡고 있다. 하우는 베를린 자유대학, 시드니대, 하와이대, 조지타운대, 말레이시아 사라왁대, 북경 제2외국어학원에서 방문학자로 연구하였다. 주요 연구분야는 동아시아에서의 전통ㆍ비전통안보, 인간안보, 중견국, 공공외교, 위기 이후 개발, 포괄적 평화구축 및 분쟁해결이며 90편 이상의 논문과 저서를 단독 혹은 공동집필하였다.
